Every girl needs travel sized items. That’s one thing I adore about beauty products: If I can take it anywhere with me. Whether it’s a long trip, weekend away, or just something small to slip into my bag. I always love checking out the travel section of Sephora, Ulta, Bed Bath & Beyond, & Target. And travel size is a great way to sample high end products without having to buy a whole bottle! And I LOVE that idea. Small hand lotions, perfumes, or makeup are always great to have on hand. Here I’ll list a whole bunch of options for your next trip, or something to put into your clutch.
Argan oil of Morocco, for dry hair, travel size, $4
Argan oil is a very coveted oil from Morocco nowadays, being sold in pure form, found in lotions, creams, shampoos & conditioners. This would be great if you have dry / damaged hair.
Tatcha body butter 1 oz, $12
A relatively new line of beauty products inspired by Geishas! Usually their stuff is quite pricey but this is 1 of their more affordable items. They have their own website & sell some items at Sephora.
Mario Badescu Acne Cleanser, 2oz, $8
Mario Badescu is a New York based original, founded in 1967. Like Kiehls, almost all of his products are in bottles / tubes, with only simple writing on them. Sold on their website & exclusively at Ulta, this acne cleanser is getting rave reviews. And not expensive either! You can buy the 6 oz bottle for only $15!
Ahava Mineral Hand cream, $1.3oz, $10
Made with Dead sea water, this brand comes all the way from Israel!
Sold exclusively at US based website, Le Couvent des Minimes, a brand made by a convent in the south of France, where they specialize in botany & skincare products, & have been making them for hundreds of years. This lotion smells sweet of rose & berries.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser, 2.5 oz, $10
Kiehl’s, which has been making skin care products now for 150 years, began as a small pharmacy in the East Village of New York. Now their products are sold all over the world. Like Mario Badescu, their products are usually in simple tubes or bottles, with only writing on them, they pride themselves on using only naturally derived ingredients. Below, you will find a travel sized conditioner as well.
Aquaphor is actually a favorite among celebrities. And Eucerin makes some of the best lotions & creams for dry skin; and the fact that it has SPF in it doesn’t hurt, either.
Not greasy, and comes in a container so it doesn’t dry up! And it’s only $1!! Love it!
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Conditioner, 2 oz, $10
Oil free conditioner, & great for all types of hair.
Kiehl’s Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Conditioner, 2.5 oz, $7
People don’t realize that olive oil is really moisturizing, & you can use it as an at home hot oil treatment. Or here, simply use it as a conditioner for your hair. I thought it would smell strange to put on something with olive oil, but it has simply a sweet grassy smell. If you feel that $7 is too much for a travel sized conditioner, you can always get L’Oreal’s Garnier conditioner for $1 at your local Target / Bed Bath & Beyond.
Travel hair brush & mirror, $1.00
Usually I can find this at my dollar store, but if you can’t, you can always pick it up from Ulta. Easy to clean, & comes with a mirror!
Simple and you can use it for blush & eye shadow, and comes in a great portable case. Click here for all of Sonia Kashuk’s makeup brushes.
I have a kabuki brush by Target, but Real Techniques makes great affordable makeup brushes. And I love retractable ones! You can slip the brush in & out, & after you cap it, it looks like a lip stick or something. Kabuki brushes or bronzer brushes are great for powdered foundations, setting powder, blushes, or just to blend different products on your face. Small, compact, & great!
Skintimate Travel size Shaving cream, 2.75 oz, $2
I almost always need a mini shaving cream on my travels. I love that they moisturize my skin & I can shave at the same time. And if you’re heading somewhere warm, or hitting the beach, you probably will need some. The link I’ve provided is at Amazon, but if you can pick up a travel size at your local Target / Walmart, definitely do it, for they only cost $1!!
Maybelline BB cream, $5.40
Cheaper if you buy it off Amazon. I love BB creams as foundations, for most of them come in tubes which makes it so much easier to pack. What I can’t stand about regular foundation is that they almost always come in glass bottles, which scares me when it comes to packing. (I’m scared it’ll break or shatter inside the suitcase) Never mind the fact that a glass bottle is really heavy inside your bag. If you need a wider range of colors, Cover Girl has a wider range of foundations that also come in tubes.
I’m not big on mascara, but for the girls who are, this is small, you can whip it out, & give your lashes a quick brush when you feel you need it. And it’s only $5!
If I use an eyelash curler, it’s always a travel one. I love that I can take it anywhere.
This is actually my favorite lip balm. Super hydrating, and LOVE the smell. It’s sold at the Body Shop, & try to catch them when they have a sale. (They always have sales!)
I usually don’t do my nails on a trip, but some girls love to do them. Carrying another bottle of liquids I think only complicates things. That’s another thing you have to ram into that small clear plastic bag, & when it comes to something like nail polish remover, there’s always that fear if you don’t close it tight enough, it’ll leak all over your things inside your suitcase. What a relief! They started making nail polish remover pads for women on the go. Just make sure you close the packet back up after using it or they’ll all dry up.
This is one of my favorite scents at the Body Shop. $5 and you come out of the shower smelling sweet. =) If you don’t like grapefruit, they have other scents! Check out here: The Body Shop Travel Favorites I used to buy travel sized detergent to wash my bathing suits when I would travel, but to wash it in some shower gel / shampoo is enough. What a great idea!
L’Occitane’s Rose et Reines Silky Shower gel, 2.5 oz, $7.5
I love feminine scents. And I think it’s great to have a rose scented in my bag from L’Occitane. They have a wealth of travel sized products, but for their bath products click here: L’Occitane Travel sized bath products
If you just don’t feel like buying everything individually:
They sell at Target, & on Amazon, travel kits if you just don’t feel like buying things individually. They are convenient, inexpensive, and sometimes already come in the plastic bag that the TSA approves.
Sold exclusively at their US based website, Le Couvent des Minimes, a brand made by a convent in the south of France, where they specialize in botany & skincare products, & have been making them for hundreds of years. This kit for the girl on the go, contains a perfume, body lotion, shower gel & hand cream that smells of sweet roses & berries! Also they’re great for travel! This is great for yourself or as a present. Check out their website for more products!
This adorable kit on the go, comes with a daily cleanser, facial wipes, mud mask, & deep pore cleanser, all travel sized!
And this one comes with everything that I would need on a trip anyway! How convenient! This is perfect for a weekend getaway. Just grab your carry on, & put both on the conveyor belt when you go through security. Click on the link to buy it off Amazon, or click here for other options: Travel kits on Amazon.
When you can’t find your favorite product in travel size:
Go Gear Travel tubes, 1.25, 2, & 3 oz bottles, $10
Go Gear Travel tubes, 3 oz each, $15
You can get the smaller bottles for a shorter trip, or the larger ones for a longer trip. Great for your shampoos, conditioners, lotions, or creams. And it’s not only great for travel! Every time I head to the hair salon, I use it to bring my own shampoo with me. (I can’t stand hair salon shampoo) Made with a rubbery silicone, once you’re done you can stick them in the dishwasher when you’re done. Love them!
Let’s say your favorite lotion / cream comes in a large bottle. Smaller sizes usually are more expensive. It’s usually cheaper to buy things in large size / bulk. Put some in a small bottle, & now you have a small mini squeeze one that you can bring to work! Slip it in your bag, or into your drawer at the office.
You can use this if your favorite perfume is not available in a rollerball. Plus this saves you money because rollerballs usually start at $20. Just open the tube & spray from your perfume bottle normally, to fill it up. Now your favorite scent can go wherever you want it to go!
If you would like you can check out both Sephora, Ulta, and other stores below for their travel size sections!!
Now get your stuff & get going!!
