Charcoal!  It’s becoming more & more popular in skincare nowadays.  You know that the Japanese have been using charcoal in their skincare products for centuries?  Charcoal now has a reputation of drawing out impurities, like oil, dirt, acne, or dead skin that may be clogging your pores.  For me this is great because I have both acne, & blackheads.  Haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet?

Facial masks:

Daiso Natural Pack Charcoal Peel Off Mask, $6

If you have Amazon Prime, you can get this shipped to your house in 2 days!  In Japanese cosmetics, they have several of these black peel off masks that’s meant to pull out your blackheads.  And I find them better than the nose strips because you can put them anywhere on your face.  Leave it on for half an hour, & then wait to peel it off.  You will see your blackheads on the other side of the mask!

Freeman’s Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Face Mask, Freeman’s Feeling Beautiful Charcoal & Black Sugar Mask, $5 each

I love Freeman’s masks.  There are so many of them, they tackle so many problems, come in 1 time use packets if you just want to try it, & on top of all that they’re so cheap!  They happen to have 2 masks with charcoal in them.  The first (on the left) facial mask / scrub helps purify skin, while the added black sugar helps to exfoliate.  The 2nd mask (on the right) has Dead Sea minerals added to it, while the charcoal helps remove impurities as well.  It’s up to you to pick one!

Dr. Jart’s Pore Minimalist Mask, $8 for 1 mask, $35 for 5

This mask is unique because you have to wet your face first, open the packet & start rubbing the mask onto your face.  Add some water to your hands as you massage your face for a min, the mask will start to warm up.  After a minute of massaging, you can just wash it off.  It’s supposed to draw out dirt, oil, open pores, & then finishes with a cooling sensation.

Caolion’s Blackhead Bubble Pore Pack, $26

A bubble mask that’s like a 3 in 1!  It helps deal with blackheads, acne, oily skin, gently exfoliates, & moisturizes skin!  Is there anything else you would want from a mask?

Pore minimizer:

Biore Charcoal Pore Minimizer, $8

If you are constantly using the blackhead nose strips, or peel off masks you will need a pore minimizer.  If you don’t you leave your pores open & vulnerable to more blackheads.

Charcoal & Bamboo Face Scrubbies for Acne, $16

A pack of 12 moist towelettes, they’re meant reduce blackheads, remove dead skin, combat acne, & tighten large pores.

Konjac Sponges with Actived Charcoal, $14

Konjac sponges are actually all the range in Japan.  The black ones are meant for acne / blackheads.  Before using you’re supposed to soak it in warm water, & wait for the sponge to expand.  Then you can use them on your face to exfoliate, then rinse, & then simply press them between your hands to expel the water & hang them to dry.  I read an article that you can use them for about a month, here they claim you can use it up to 3 months.  Because they’re made from natural plant fibers, they’re biodegradable!  You can just toss these into your garden when you’re done with them!
