Welcome to the NY Botanical Garden in the Bronx!! My husband & I hardly ever venture into the Bronx. And I’m not sure why. He grew up there, but only ventures there for the occasional Yankee game. In NYC, we have 3 botanical gardens (as far as I know) but I had never been to the one there. When I heard they had a Frida Kahlo exhibit, I had to go!
The entrance to the Frida Kahlo exhibit
The exhibit consisted of a recreation of her house, Casa Azul, and 14 of her original paintings. Mind you, her paintings are generally very small.

A 3D recreation of one of her most famous paintings, The Two Fridas, at the NY Botanical Gardens
We weren’t allowed to take pictures of her actual paintings. This was her only self portrait featured in the exhibit. I managed to sneak a photo in!

Water fountains & other smaller ponds within the Botanical Gardens
I love & adore Frida Kahlo; she is one of my favorite artists of all time. This exhibit felt really small and barely encompasses who she was as an artist. I hope one day to go to Mexico City and to see her real house one day!
