It’s Shea butter! There are lots of great moisturizing ingredients on the market now, from argan oil, olive oil, cocoa butter, etc. But human beings been using shea butter for thousands of years & still use to this present day for dry skin! Even used back in the days of Ancient Egypt, it is derived from the nuts of the shea tree, which are found mostly in West Africa. And with the advances in production & modern technology, you can find it at your local drugstore! Skin a bit dry this season? Try one of the listed products below!
For your hands / feet:
Dr. Teal’s Shea Enriched Foot Cream, 8oz, $4
You don’t only need to use this in the winter; you could use this all year! You can use it on your hands, or to soften tough feet.
To Moisturize Hands Without Being Greasy:
Burt’s Bees Hand Repair Cream, 3.2 oz, $9
Ever find that either moisturizers are either too light, or too greasy? Solution to your problem! Infused with cocoa butter, sesame oil, & vitamin E; you’ll notice that the cream soaks in immediately.
For a body scrub:

Face cream for dry skin:
It doesn’t get much more natural than S.W. Basics. Boasting that it consists only of 3 ingredients: shea butter, coconut oil, & olive oil; a great soothing moisturizer for chapped skin.
For dry lips:

Now this is a rich lip balm! Consisting of castor oil, beeswax, peppermint oil, & shea butter, give your lips a smooth, shiny finish!
For body butters:
Skinfix Ultra Rich Body Butter, $12
Does your skin get dry & itchy in the winter? Mine definitely does. And my saving grace in the winter has been body butter! A new product on the market, this has a rich mix of coconut oil, glycerin, & petrolatum, sinks into the skin right away!
Nubian Heritage Raw Shea Butter, $10
Would you like some of the pure stuff? You have it right here in a jar! Because it’s incredibly concentrated, a little bit goes a long way & absorbs nicely.
For a light weight portable cream:
L’occitane’s Shea Butter Ultra Soft Cream in Rose Heart, Vanilla Bouquet, & Zesty Lime, 3.5 oz, $26
These adorable creams are lightweight, & if you feel that shea butter is too heavy, they only consist 10%. You can use it anywhere on your body, & leaves a sweet scent!
If you have dry chapped skin, or lips, get something! There are other great ingredients for moisturizing! I actually love shea butter! I use the raw form. I Usuaally add a lil essential oil and it’s a great emollient indeed. Great post, I forgot to use it today. LOL
